This is based off a photo I was given. It’s my second portrait, and there were quite a few challenges. First off it’s a little larger than life, and it was tricky trying to tackle all the subtle changes in color when dealing with such a monochromatic reference, but it was a lot of fun! I’m happy with it. I included a detail shot and a progress image as well.

I started and finished my first oil portrait on Saturday, it was exciting to get it finished.
I also colored a sketch in Photoshop during my lunch today for Character of the Week on conceptart.org.

Here’s a portrait from life drawing class today, using a lot more white chalk this time to help define the form. This week I’ll start working part time on Shadow Physics, creating a 3D proof of concept for the look of the game! Exciting!
