Once again I’ve neglected the ol’ blog! I actually do have a lot of things I want to post in the coming days. Life drawings, sketches, and the work I’ve been doing for Shadow Physics. Time just keeps escaping me. I’m happy to post this new painting. It’s the first full one I’ve done in a while, and I feel it’s a milestone for me. It’s another Art Order challenge, since that usually gets me motivated to drop what I’m doing and do something different. Plus, it’s a pin-up! I love pin-ups!

Here is yet another entry into Art Order’s weekly Concept Challenge. I’m learning a LOT from doing these and I’m happy with how this one came out. This week’s assignment was to create a book cover of a female Drow fighting a Mindflayer. Here’s both the image itself and with the provided book template:
I’ve been working on some 3D characters as well and will be uploading those in the following weeks.

I whipped this up this evening after spending the week working on some 3D stuff I’m hoping to finish over the weekend. This week’s challenge was to create a Catastrophic Dragon that is representative of earthquakes. I went ahead and made him very bulky, with rock skin a la Thing from Fantastic 4. Also I gave him the hard head of a pachycephalosaurus and a large club-like tail similar to an ankylasaur, and some thumbs of what he might look like in action.
